Priya Suresh
Author
Priya Devi Suresh is a writer and mother with a Master of Science in Psychology, specializing in child and adolescent development. She has a professional background in research across clinical and applied industry settings. Her debut picture book, I Talk Like Me, is a neurodiversity-affirming story that celebrates the many beautiful ways children communicate. Priya is passionate about representation in literature and the power of storytelling to build understanding, foster connection, and challenge stigma. Her work reflects a deep commitment to inclusion and to amplifying voices and experiences that are too often absent from mainstream narratives.
About The Book: Winner of The Golden Wizard Book Prize and Book of the Year Finalist 2025 I Talk Like Me is a tender, lyrical celebration of the many ways children communicate - especially those who speak in full phrases, repeat what they’ve heard, or express themselves through movement, sound, and gesture. Inspired by Gestalt Language Processors, this book honors the voices that don't always follow expected paths, but are just as meaningful, rich, and real. With warmth and wonder, it affirms that there is no wrong way to talk, and that love always understands. Written for children who speak in their own way and for those learning how to listen. I Talk Like Me is a story of belonging, acceptance, and the beauty of every unique voice.

Perla Tiko
Director of Pair of ABA LLC
We are a neurodiversity-affirming ABA practice that recognizes and respects each child’s unique strengths, interests, and way of experiencing the world. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, we build learning opportunities around what naturally motivates each child, helping them grow in ways that feel meaningful, engaging, and supportive. We use Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Interventions (NDBI) because they combine evidence-based ABA strategies with developmental, play-based teaching in everyday routines and interactions. This approach helps children build communication, social, play, and daily living skills in a way that is child-centered, relationship-driven, and more likely to generalize into real life.

Kayla Castro
Certified autism travel professional
When my son was younger, I was terrified to travel with him. I searched high and low for accommodations and resources for guests on the spectrum. There were slim to none. So I became a travel advisor for special needs families because I wanted to be the resource for my clients, that I wish I had when my son was younger. Thankfully, the travel world has come a long way with accessibility. We still have a long way to go but this is a start. I love being able to share that with clients.

Courtney Jenkins
Founder of Awe and Wonder
Awe & Wonder has developed a curriculum specifically for those with special needs who need adaptions to better understand and know the Bible. The curriculum subscription launched in July 2023 with a membership option for families and one for churches. We also offer discipleship resources, tools, recommendations, and trainings to help equip families and volunteers with research-based Special Education practices that can be utilized in the church or home context to teach about God and the Bible. As I was praying over what to call this ministry, Psalm 65:8 came to mind. As believers, we are called to go into all the earth and make disciples. We want all the people in the world to stand in awe of God’s great wonders. We want to see ALL people come to know and worship God! I had a professor at Bible college who constantly said, “all means all, and that’s all all means.” Children and adults with disabilities are not excluded from all. As the church, we need to be intentionally reaching those with differing abilities and their families with the Gospel and integrating them into the life of the church. Special needs parents are called to disciple and teach their children the truths of Scripture, just like any other Christian parent.

Samantha Charles
Director of Innabah Camp Retreat & Center
Our Challenge Camp programs are designed for youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, creating a space where every camper is fully welcomed, supported, and celebrated. Each session is thoughtfully structured to meet a wide range of needs, with options like Bethany Camps for those who benefit from extra support or accessibility, Hilltops for a traditional camp experience, and Adventure programs for campers looking for a more active pace. To ensure we can provide a safe and successful experience for everyone, campers in these programs need to be ambulatory, independently toilet capable, and able to manage personal care tasks such as showering and daily hygiene on their own. At this time, we are not able to provide one-on-one support. What makes Challenge Camp unique is the way we build community. Campers are not just attending a program. They are forming friendships, gaining confidence, and experiencing the joy and belonging that camp can offer. Our staff are trained to meet campers where they are, providing individualized care while still encouraging independence and growth. We also keep our camper-to-staff ratios intentionally low, allowing for deeper connection, safety, and personalized support throughout the week. From swimming and crafts to campfires and music, everything is adapted so that each camper can fully participate in a way that works for them. At the heart of Challenge Camp is a simple belief: everyone deserves a place at camp. And here, they truly have one.
