Kayla Castro
Certified autism travel professional
When my son was younger, I was terrified to travel with him. I searched high and low for accommodations and resources for guests on the spectrum. There were slim to none. So I became a travel advisor for special needs families because I wanted to be the resource for my clients, that I wish I had when my son was younger. Thankfully, the travel world has come a long way with accessibility. We still have a long way to go but this is a start. I love being able to share that with clients.

Courtney Jenkins
Founder of Awe and Wonder
Awe & Wonder has developed a curriculum specifically for those with special needs who need adaptions to better understand and know the Bible. The curriculum subscription launched in July 2023 with a membership option for families and one for churches. We also offer discipleship resources, tools, recommendations, and trainings to help equip families and volunteers with research-based Special Education practices that can be utilized in the church or home context to teach about God and the Bible. As I was praying over what to call this ministry, Psalm 65:8 came to mind. As believers, we are called to go into all the earth and make disciples. We want all the people in the world to stand in awe of God’s great wonders. We want to see ALL people come to know and worship God! I had a professor at Bible college who constantly said, “all means all, and that’s all all means.” Children and adults with disabilities are not excluded from all. As the church, we need to be intentionally reaching those with differing abilities and their families with the Gospel and integrating them into the life of the church. Special needs parents are called to disciple and teach their children the truths of Scripture, just like any other Christian parent.

I take time to understand each child’s sensory, emotional and developmental needs so therapy can feel natural and empowering. Whether we’re exploring new foods or supporting communication growth, my goal is always to build confidence, connection and lasting progress through meaningful play and relationship.
